I always think of the song about the" Boys of Summer" by Don Henley when I think of Sports. Maybe it was because my family was into swimming and not the usual sports like baseball, football and basketball.

As our sons grew up, the youngest was always the last one selected when the neighborhood boys were getting ready to play basketball. He was the shortest and the youngest. That is until he came home from his first year at prep school and was about 6 feet tall. Basketball is a universal neighborhood sport and as boys get older they seem to enjoy it more.

Now that we have grandsons and grand daughters arriving in our lives there is much more emphasis on sports.  Between football and soccer practice and games their parents are constantly on the go.
