Sew Creative Projects for Beginners to Advanced

These projects use scrapes and clothing that you already own to make gifts and garments for the fun of sewing.
Beginners with machine knowledge are welcome. Make sure you are very comfortable with the basics of your sewing machine. Kris is the teacher

Supplies needed: All classes need a machine and all of theri accessories to sew.  Feet, foot controls, cords.

Duffle Bag Carry On with Pockets

Thursday                       May 6 & 13              10:00-12:00                 $20.00                                                    Pockets, pocket everywhere make this large Duffle Bag great for a vacation carry-on. The best thing is that you will piece, pad, and construct from your stash, left over blocks, and excess fabric.
Don’t have a stash– we can help you.  The pattern and all the items needed to make the pattern.  You can use scrpa, blocks, or new fabric.  You will need a zipper.

Pattern Fitting Shirts & Tops

In this fitting class you will take measurements and adjustments to the pattern of your choice. This class is geared toward creating the pattern as a “sloper” before actual construction on fashion fabric. Consider taking the next class to learn to fit skirts. Choose the pattern which you want to use for this project.  Make sure that it has instructions and all the pattern pieces.  Bring a fabric that you wish to make a trial garment.  Please bring a sewing machine with all it's accessories ready to sew.

Pattern Fitting Skirts & *Dresses

In this fitting class you will take measurements and adjustments to the pattern of your choice. It is recommended that if you are going to make a dress you consider taking the previous class to fit the top of the dress. This class will focus on fitting, waist bands, professional zipper insertion, hems, and seams that reflect a couture finish. Choose the pattern which you want to use for this project.  Make sure that it has instructions and all the pattern pieces.  Bring a fabric that you wish to make a trial garment.  Please bring a sewing machine with all it's accessories ready to sew.

Easy Pajama Pants an Pillowcase
Monday           June 14, 21, & 28           10:00-12:00              Kris      $35.00 for 3 days
The Kwik Sew 3602 pattern is FREE with the enrollment in class.  You will need to select fabric and supplies for the pattern, collect your machine and be ready to have a great time.  Open to all students who feel comfortable threading their machine and sewing a straight seam.  We will do the rest.  Space is limited.
SUPPLIES FOR THIS CLASS
Machine and all accessories including power cord, foot control, different presser feet,
Bring 3 yards of pajama fabric which will also be used on the pillow case cuff and 3/4 yard of fabric to coordinate to be used on the pillowcase body
Bring Metrosene Polyester 100wt thread to match the project
Scissors for cutting fabric, Marking Pens, pins to use for holding the pattern

Reading Patterns & Cutting Basics

Bring your patterns to decipher and learn to read the foreign language of sewing.  Learn about the pattern layout, grain lines, seam allowances, RST, and all those other terms.  You just want to sew but the words get in the way.  Learn how to lay out a pattern and the correct way to put the pins into the fabric.  Supply sheet has more information.

Seams, Hems, and Facings
Wednesday      July 21                         1:00-3:00         Kris                  $10.00 + $15.00 kit
Learn about seams and their special finishing techniques, hems and blind hem, and facings for simple garments.  This class has a kit fee so that we can gather the necessary fabric, cut it to the specific sizes, and then all you do is learn the techniques.  Bring your machine with all the accessories on the supply sheet and we will do the rest.

Machine and all accessories including power cord, foot control, different presser feet,
Fabric kit includes fabric and info
Bring Metrosene Polyester 100wt thread in basic black and basic red



Class Registration Policy
Payment is due at registration. After registering, make sure you receive a class confirmation form and print off your supply sheet. Supplies & fabric are extra unless stated. Babies, family members or friends are not permitted in class.
Refund policy
In the event that a class must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, individuals who registered for that class will be notified and a full refund will be mailed. Should a student cancel a class, refunds are available if requested ONE WEEK BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS. There will be a $5.00 administrative fee applied to each class fee. No refunds can be given once a class or club has begun, no refunds will be given on kit fees
THERE IS NO REFUND ON CLASSES WITH NATIONAL TEACHERS. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN GIVE YOUR SPACE TO SOMEONE ELSE. PLEASE CALL US IF THIS HAPPENS SO THAT WE CAN MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE ROLL FOR CLASS.
