Basic Computer Skills for hands on classes Brother & Bernina :

There are many basic skills that will help you feel more comfortable in computer classes. Some of the things that you will learn are keyboard shortcuts, mouse tricks, the difference between clicking left or right, creating folders, finding designs, saving designs in multiple formats, opening CD’s, sending designs to memory sticks, and downloading from the internet. This is a great class before starting any hands on software classes.

BERNINA Software Classes :
Total class fee is $30.00 for these 7 classes. These are hands on classes with the software installed on your computer. Open to all levels and versions of Bernina software– you will learn something different in every class even if you do not own V.6 Designer Plus.

Must have computer with software installed to sign up for these classes

Monograms                             Mon.                            April 19                             10:00-12:00              Terry

Learn to create Monograms with all levels of the Bernina software. After learning this way you will be able to use all the features of your particular level as we investigate size, array, borders, fills, and embellishments.

Cross Stitch                           Mon.                            April 26                             10:00-12:00                 Terry

This features begins at Editor Plus. Have you loved the cross stitch that you see in many embroidery designs but want to create your own. Using the basic tools in your software we will “create” cross stitch from any design.

Automatic Digitizing                Mon.                          May 3                             10:00-12:00                 Terry

This feature begins at Editor Plus. If you have wanted to auto- digitize but it seems “sew boring” this class is for you. Learn about the artistic features needed to have great auto digitizing.

Lines, Outlines, & Quilting Effects                 Mon.                           May 10                             10:00-12:00           Terry

You will need Designer Plus to use your software in this class. If you have signed up for the first 3 classes this is the determining factor or why you would want Designer Plus software.

Carving + Morphing+Freehand Tools                       Mon.                           May 17                             10:00-12:00         Terry

Using these new tools in V6 software expand the capabilities of your Design Plus software. Not only do we have 180 fancy fills and 30 different step fills but you can modify all of those.

Digitizing Tools                              Mon.                            May 24                             10:00-12:00                   Terry

Now we are getting down to the essence of Designer Plus. Everything that you have learned so far is brought together to enhance your knowledge.

Bernina Software Mastery Lettering

Bring your computer with Bernina Software loaded and running. Lettering, Monogramming, distortion, changes, sizing, spacing fonts, etc. will be studied. Yes, if you have older versions than V5 or V6 you can join this class. Your software must be up and running. Please remember a mouse, power supply, security device and other items to ensure that your software is running with no issues.

We will not be able to help you get the software running in class. If you have these issues please ask for our private help.
We will study all levels and all versions of the Bernina software. Again if you own a level of Bernina software and can not install it on your new computer this is not the class for that issue. Please come see us for private help.

Bernina Software Mastery Customizing

Bring your computer with Bernina Software loaded and running. Getting designs, grouping ungrouping, manipulating, breaking apart, re-coloring, re-sizing, and all the other ways of changing will be studied. Yes, if you have older versions than V5 or V6 you can join this class. Your software must be up and running. Please remember a mouse, power supply, security device and other items to ensure that your software is running with no issues.

We will not be able to help you get the software running in class. If you have these issues please ask for our private help.
We will study all levels and all versions of the Bernina software. Again if you own a level of Bernina software and can not install it on your new computer this is not the class for that issue. Please come see us for private help.

Class Registration Policy
Payment is due at registration. After registering, make sure you receive a class confirmation form and supply sheet. Supplies & fabric are extra unless stated. Babies, family members or friends are not permitted in class.
Refund policy
In the event that a class must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, individuals who registered for that class will be notified and a full refund will be mailed. Should a student cancel a class, refunds are available if requested ONE WEEK BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS. There will be a $5.00 administrative fee applied to each class fee. No refunds can be given once a class or club has begun, no refunds will be given on kit fees
THERE IS NO REFUND ON CLASSES WITH NATIONAL TEACHERS. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN GIVE YOUR SPACE TO SOMEONE ELSE. PLEASE CALL US IF THIS HAPPENS SO THAT WE CAN MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE ROLL FOR CLASS.
